Breastfeeding Support Services
We encourage breastfeeding whenever possible. The Avera Breastfeeding Center of the Women's Center at Avera McKennan has International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) who provide education and support for parents choosing to breastfeed their infants. At Avera McKennan, only those who have achieved IBCLC status may use the title "Lactation Consultant." Using this standard assures you the highest level of expertise available.
