Private Duty Nursing

Avera McKennan Home Care offers a Private Duty Nursing program to meet your needs. Each caregiver is trained to provide individualized care with a personal touch. Our services can contribute to a better quality of life for the family by relieving some of the stresses associated with caring for a loved one at home. Medical Care Nurses

Nurses provide assessments, patient and family education, medication management, insulin syringe set-up, patient care, physician follow-ups, and coordination of community resources (Charge: $55 per hour).

Task Specific Options

Medication box set-up (fee determined by the number of box set-ups):

1-2 boxes in town, $45
3-4 boxes in town, $55
1-2 boxes out of town, $55
3-4 boxes out of town, $65

Injections

In town, $45
Out of town, $55

Home Health Aide

Home Health Aide provides bathing and expanded personal needs, assistance with walking, blood pressure checks, exercises, and reminders to take medications.

Charge: $21.50 per hour

Task Specific Options

Bath visit (bathing, shampoo, dressing and oral hygiene)
Bedtime visit (oral hygiene, skin care, assist with getting into bed)
In town, $21.50
Out of town, $26.50
(Hourly rate includes travel time to home and time spent in home)

Homemaker/Companion

Light housekeeping
Meal preparation
Assistance with feeding
Laundry
Errands (mileage charged)
Grocery shopping (mileage charged)

2 hours, $19.50/hour
3 hours, $18.50/hour
6+ hours, $17.50/hour
Time and ½ for holidays
$1.50 additional for evening and weekend hours for all nurses, home health aide, homemaker, and companion hours

Social Work

To assist in resolving financial, environmental, functional and psychological issues and to educate and coordinate community resources that will assist the patient and their families.
