The Avera McKennan Community Weight Loss Challenge is a 12-week online event. It is designed to help you lose weight, eat right and adopt an active, vibrant lifestyle. The 2008 challenge ended on August 9th. Continue to check this site for results information and healthy lifestyle tips!

Health Challenge for Weight Loss Maintenance

Now that you've made healthful changes it's time to focus on long term health. Now what!? Experts suggest the following:

  • Make sure have a strong support system in place.
  • Review what motivates you.
  • Focus on physical activity - this is key to maintenance
  • Prepare yourself for any set-backs that may occur. Get a plan together and/or consult your support system
  • Continue with Mindful eating, don't over do-it and pay attention to what you are eating!
