When you or a loved one receives a cancer diagnosis, you want to educate yourself and become informed. We have compiled some information to help you. You can also visit our Community Cancer Resource Library in the Avera Cancer Institute for education information or request education resources from us online.

All Women Count!

The All Women Count! program is supported by Avera Race for the Cure funds. Avera Race for the Cure proceeds are used to ensure women in South Dakota are able to get free mammograms if they qualify for the program. Visit the South Dakota Department of Health website for more infomation »

Cancer Exercise Specialists

The Cancer Exercise Specialist team provided training in specific cancer rehabilitation and fitness protocol at Avera McKennan Fitness Center. Following a comprehensive 2-day workshop and written examination, members of our staff and Avera McKennan are now fully certified in cancer exercise training.
