Avera McKennan is proud of our commitment to behavioral health services in the region. A dedicated team of professionals, including architects, engineers, planners, hospital administration and health professionals were involved with the creation of the Avera Behavioral Health Center, which includes:

  • 100,000 Sq. Ft, 110 Bed Inpatient Facility
  • Five Inpatient Units: Child, Adolescent, Adult, Adult Acute, Senior
  • Adjoining 30,000 Sq. Ft. Medical Office Building dedicated to psychiatry services
  • USD Sanford School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry Residency Program, including a child fellowship Program
  • SDSU Pharmacy Residency Program
  • Avera Research Institute - Brain Research Institute
  • Day Hospital Program
  • Bistro Café and Coffee Bar
  • Meditation Room
