Hot Flushes (or Flashes) Study

Study Description: A Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled Study assessing the Safety and Efficacy of DVS SR for the Treatment of Vasomotor Symptoms Associated with Menopause
Overview: The Avera Research Institute is participating in a clinical research study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of an investigational drug for the treatment of hot flushes (or flashes).
Millions of post-menopausal women feel sudden sensations of heat accompanied by sweating, commonly known as hot flushes. Hot flushes can even disrupt sleep.
If you are a female at least 45 years old, you may qualify for this study if:
- You are bothered by hot flushes
- You are not being treated with hormone therapy or with any acute psychotic medications
- It has been 6 months since your last menstrual period or you have had both ovaries removed
Qualified participants:
- Will receive study-related physician visits and medical evaluations at no cost
- May receive study-related drug and payment for time and travel
